The figures you type
Nothing you enter into a calculator leaves your browser. Every calculation on this site runs as JavaScript on your own device. Your balances, rates, payments, home value and everything else are never transmitted to us, never stored, and never logged, because there is no server to send them to.
A practical consequence: if you close the tab, your figures are gone. There is nothing to recover and nobody to ask.
What we do not have
- No accounts, so no names, emails or passwords.
- No contact form, so nothing submitted anywhere.
- No newsletter and no mailing list.
- No cookies set by us.
- No profile of you, and nothing sold to anyone.
The one exception is if you email us. Then we have your email and whatever you wrote, for as long as it takes to answer you.
What third parties on this site do collect
This is the part most privacy pages skate over, so it is worth being plain. This site is funded by advertising, and advertising is not anonymous.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or read existing ones to serve and measure ads, and may use your IP address, browser, device and browsing behaviour to do so. That happens on their systems, not ours, and we do not receive the underlying data.
You can control this. Google's Ad Centre lets you turn off personalised advertising, and aboutads.info covers the wider industry. In the EEA and the UK you will be shown a consent dialog before personalised ads are served, and your choice there is respected.
Analytics
We use aggregate analytics to see which calculators get used and where pages are slow. That reports counts and patterns rather than individuals, and we do not attempt to identify anyone from it.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests to deliver pages and to block abuse, and keeps short-lived logs including IP addresses for that purpose. That is a normal part of how any website reaches you.
Links out
Pages here link to sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, HUD and the FDIC. Those sites have their own privacy practices and we have no control over them. Links to third parties on this site are informational and are never paid.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. In our case there is very little to exercise them against, because we hold nothing beyond email correspondence you started. For the data that advertising and analytics providers hold, their own controls linked above are the effective route.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the review date at the bottom of this page changes with it. Substantive changes are worth re-reading rather than being announced with a banner.
