Contact

One email address, read by a person, with no form to fill in.

Write to hello@interestbench.com.

There is no contact form here on purpose. Every other page on this site says that nothing you type is sent anywhere, and a form would be the one place that was not true. An email keeps you in control of what you send and to whom.

The most useful thing you can send

A figure you think is wrong, with the inputs that produced it. Something like "the credit card payoff page says 55 months for $8,400 at 22.9% paying $250, and my card issuer says 57" is immediately actionable. We can reproduce it, work it by hand, and either fix the page or explain the difference.

Most disagreements turn out to be an assumption rather than an error, which is worth knowing either way. If your issuer uses average daily balance and we use the opening balance, that is a real difference and we would rather say so on the page than leave you wondering.

Other things worth writing about

  • A calculator that is missing. Tell us the question you were trying to answer rather than the tool you expected, because the question is the useful part.
  • Something that does not work on your browser or phone. Which browser and roughly what you did helps a great deal.
  • An explanation that is wrong or unclear. The prose on these pages matters as much as the arithmetic, and it is easier for us to miss.
  • A source we should be citing and are not, particularly where a rule has changed.

What we cannot help with

We cannot tell you what to do with your money. Not as a policy about liability but because we genuinely do not know: your other debts, your savings, your income security and your plans are all things a stranger with a calculator cannot see. Every page here is built to give you the figures and stop.

We also cannot look up your account, contact your lender, or tell you what your own minimum payment formula is. That last one is in your cardholder agreement, and it is worth finding.

If you need advice about a specific situation, a fee-only financial planner or a non-profit credit counsellor is the right place. Neither of those pays us anything for saying so.

What to expect

This is a small site run by one person alongside other work. There is no ticket queue, no chatbot, and no support hours. Mail about a wrong number gets read and answered. Mail asking us to link to something, buy something, or publish a guest article does not.
